Dale Jones (musician)

Dale Jones (born August 13, 1902 in Nebraska , † June 1970 ) was an American jazz musician ( double bass , vocals ).

Live and act

Jones worked for Will Osborne in the 1930s ; In 1943 he led a sextet in Los Angeles. In 1944 he was a vocalist in the Frank DeVol Orchestra, on whose radio recordings he participated with Eddie South . In 1947 he recorded several titles for the Coast label in Los Angeles as Deacon Jones & His Orchestra ; in his studio band played u. a. Charlie Teagarden . In the 1950s he was a member of Louis Armstrong and his All Stars and was also involved in Armstrong's recordings with Ella Fitzgerald .
