Dalia María Contreras Rivero (born September 20, 1983 in Cabudare ) is a former Venezuelan Taekwondoin .

Career

Contreras took part in the Summer Olympics twice. In 2004 in Athens she took eighth place in the weight class up to 49 kilograms. In the same class, she won in 2008 in Beijing the bronze medal. She also won bronze twice at world championships , in 2001 in Jeju and in 2003 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . On the continental level, Contreras was the Pan American Champion in Oranjestad in 2000 , and three years later she won silver at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo .

Her nephew Edgar Contreras is also Taekwondoin.
