Damian Watson (born January 14, 1987 in Dunedin ) is a former New Zealand ice hockey player who played in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League for the Southern Stampede and Dunedin Thunder .

Career

Damian Watson began his career as an ice hockey player on a youth team in his native Dunedin . In the southern hemisphere summer 2004/05 he played for the HK Sokil Kiev junior team in the Ukraine. With the founding of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League in 2005 he returned to New Zealand and joined the Southern Stampede . In the very first year he was able to win the New Zealand championship with his team. From 2008 he played for the Dunedin Thunder from his hometown, with which he ended his career in 2011.

International

In the junior division Watson played for New Zealand at the U18 World Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 in Division III.

With the New Zealand men's national team , Watson took part in the Division III 2009 and Division II 2011 World Championships .
