Damian Hartrad Ernst Freiherr von Ritter zu Grünstein (born August 22, 1677 in Eltville am Rhein , † March 10, 1742 in Hasselheck near Ober-Mörlen ) was a German judge and vice cathedral .

Ritter zu Grünstein was the son of the Reich Chamber Court assistant Johann Heinrich Daniel Freiherr von Ritter zu Grünstein (1646–1710) and his wife Maria Wilhelmine Elisabeth Freiin von Warsberg († 1711). His cousin was the Electoral Mainz court marshal and architect Anselm Franz von Ritter zu Groenesteyn .

In 1712 he married Maria Johanna Anna Freiin von Hoheneck (born March 28, 1691 in Aschaffenburg; † May 12, 1748 in Mainz), the daughter of Lothar Freiherr von Hoheneck , Kurmainzer chamberlain and councilor, chief magistrate to (Tauber) bishop's home and Eva Maria Freiin von Bernhausen. The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Eva Charlotte Anna Maria Baroness von Specht von Bubenheim (1713–1762), married to the Chamberlain of Kurmainz and Oberamtmann in Jagstberg Johann Philipp Christoph Xaver Freiherr Specht von Bubenheim
  • Lothar Franz Freiherr von Ritter zu Grünstein (1715–1786), canon in Fulda, provost to St. Michael in Fulda
  • Maria Anna Wilderica von der Wenge (* 1719), married to the Imperial and Kurkölner Privy Council, General Field Sergeant, Colonel of a regiment on foot Friedrich Franz Florens Freiherr von der Wenge
  • Constantin Anton Philipp Freiherr von Ritter zu Groenesteyn (1723–1791)
  • Caroline Charlotte Ferdinande Magdalena Juliane Ernestine Freiin von Ritter zu Grünstein (1726–1764)
  • Carl Adolf Freiherr von Ritter zu Grünstein (1728–1792), President of the Trade Office in Mainz

Life

Ritter zu Grünstein was Electoral Mainz Chamberlain and Privy Councilor. In 1703 he was awarded the title of real chamberlain to the Kurmainz court and government councilor in 1706 . In 1711 he became court judge assessor in Mainz and in 1728 he became a privy councilor and in 1729 court court president in Mainz. In 1732 he was appointed court judge and vice cathedral in the city of Mainz . In 1724 he was accepted into the Council of Knights of the Imperial Knighthood, Canton Upper Rhine .

He was lord of Groenesteyn (sold in 1730), Hasselheck and Kiedrich .

Baron von Ritter zu Grünstein, who was a Catholic denomination, is buried in Eltville on the Rhine .
