Dan Reeder

Dan Reeder (born August 15, 1954 in Lafayette , Louisiana , USA) is a Nuremberg painter and musician .

Life

After finishing school, Reeder first worked as a butcher before studying fine arts at California State University from 1980 to 1985 . Reeder has lived with his family in Nuremberg since the late 1980s . His works are represented in the collection of the New Museum for Art and Design Nuremberg.

As a musician, Reeder has so far released three CDs on the OhBoy label of US country musician John Prine . He recorded the albums in his own production in his Nuremberg studio. All instruments used are self-made and the songs are self-written. Together with Prine he performs regularly in North America and Europe.

Reeder was the first musician to get an article from Rolling Stone Magazine without having a record deal .

In 2006, Reeder opened the Nuremberg Bardentreffen with a concert on Klarissenplatz. In 2010 he was awarded the advancement award of the city of Nuremberg .
