Dan Stav

Dan Stav (born May 8, 1956 in Haifa ) is an Israeli diplomat and ambassador to Azerbaijan since 2015 .

Life

Stav did his military service in the Israeli armed forces from 1974 to 1977 . In 1979 he began studying international relations at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem . In 1982 he received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) for this. 1986 followed a Master of Arts (MA) cum laude . In November 1984 he joined the Israeli Foreign Ministry , worked in its Pacific Department from May 1986 to February 1989 and was press spokesman for the Israeli embassy in The Hague from February 1989 to August 1992 . Stav has now returned to Israel and from September 1992 worked as a researcher in the Western Europe department of the Center for Political Research , an institution belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. In July 1998 he moved to the Israeli embassy in New Delhi , where he became deputy head of the diplomatic mission. As such, from December 2002 to August 2003 he was chargé d'affaires (ad interim) of the embassy. After holding various posts in the Foreign Ministry, Stav was the Israeli ambassador to Nepal from 2005 to 2010. After that, he worked again in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On August 31, 2015, he was accredited as the new Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan.

Stav is married and has two children.
