Daniel A. Lomino is a production designer and art director .
Life
Lomino began his career on the film staff in 1971 as a technical draftsman while filming James Bond 007 - Diamond Fever . In 1977 he worked for the first time as art director on a feature film, in the same year he worked in this role on Steven Spielberg's science fiction film Close Encounters of the Third Kind . 1978 was nominated for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design together with Joe Alves and Phil Abramson , but the award went to Star Wars that year .
Between 1983 and 1993 he worked frequently with directors John Carpenter , including Christine and Starman . From the mid-1980s, he also worked for television, including the television series MacGyver and Baywatch - The Lifeguards of Malibu .
