Daniel Atienza Urendez (born September 22, 1974 in Moudon / Switzerland ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Daniel Atienza was a professional cyclist from 1997 to 2005. He began his career with Team Polti . After three years he moved to Saeco , where he won the Rominger Classic in his first year . He also started in the Tour de France , which he finished 29th. In 2001 he started again on the tour and finished 30th in the overall ranking. On his third tour participation in 2002 he had to give up early. In 2003 he moved to the French racing team Cofidis . At the Tour de Romandie 2005 Atienza was eighth in the final standings.

Atienza also competed five times in the Vuelta a España : in 2001 he was 48th, in 2002 28th, 32nd in 2003 , 25th in 2004 and 16th in 2005. His only participation in the Giro d'Italia in 2005, he finished 14th. Place in the overall ranking.
