Daniel Dejori (born December 12, 1989 in Bolzano ) is an Italian ski racer and former grass skier . From 2006 he was a member of the national grass ski squad of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI). Since 2008 he has only been active in alpine skiing, but so far without any major success.

Career

Grass ski

Dejori made his first international appearances at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Rettenbach, Austria . He reached eighth place in giant slalom, eleventh place in Super-G, 12th place in slalom and 13th place in the combination. In September of the same year he also took part in the FIS races in Castione della Presolana and achieved the 13th place in the slalom as the best result. From the next year Dejori also started in the World Cup . In the 2005 season he came three times in the points, his best result was 15th place in the Super-G of Forni di Sopra . In the overall standings he finished 32nd. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 he achieved eleventh place in the giant slalom and twelfth place in the combination as well as 15th place in the Super-G and 17th place in the slalom.

In the 2006 World Cup season, Dejori was twice in the top ten (9th place in the slalom of Sattel and 10th place in the Super-G of Forni di Sopra ), which put him in 22nd place overall. At the Junior World Championships 2006 in Horní Lhota his best result was 15th place in the Super-G. In the combination he came in 18th and in slalom 19th. At the Junior World Championship in 2007 Dejori won the only medal in his hometown Welschnofen . Behind the Czech Jan Gardavský and the Austrian Jakob Rest he finished third in the super combined. He narrowly missed another medal with fourth place in the Super-G and eighth in the slalom. One month after the Junior World Championships, he also took part in his only World Championship in the general class and achieved 20th place in slalom as the best result. In the 2007 World Cup season, Dejori was twice in the top ten, as in the previous year, but fell back to 29th place in the overall ranking. After that, the Italian did not contest any more grass ski races.

Alpine skiing

In alpine skiing, Dejori began to take part in junior and FIS races in winter 2004/2005 , but initially without much success. It was not until March 2009 that he was among the top ten in an FIS race for the first time, and eleven months later the first podium followed. He won junior races back in December 2007. Since 2009 he has also competed in the European Cup in individual cases , but has so far remained far from scoring points. At the Winter Universiade 2011 in Erzurum , he finished eleventh in the giant slalom. Later he only competed in the giant slalom. In the 2013/2014 season he competed in several races in New Zealand, including one FIS race. He also finished second in an ANC race and third in the New Zealand championships.
