Daniel Edwards

Daniel Edwards (* 1965 in La Porte , Indiana ) is an American sculptor . He studied at the Graduate School of Figurative Art at the New York Academy of Art.

His sculptures depict popular people in contemporary affairs. Edwards created the Martin Luther King and Kennedy statues of Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Indianapolis , worked for the National Art Museum of Sport and the city's Capitol, and the Las Vegas Museum of Art .

He was best known for the life-size statue of Britney Spears giving birth ( Monument to Life: The Birth of Sean Preston ) and the bronze casting of the child's first excrement by actor Tom Cruise ( Suri's First Poop ). A sculpture showing the naked body of Paris Hilton is designed to warn teenagers in the United States about the consequences of drinking alcohol during prom.

Edwards is the recipient of the 2006 Bartlebooth Award from the London weekly The Art Newspaper .
