Daniel Federspiel

Daniel Federspiel (born April 21, 1987 ) is an Austrian cyclocross and mountain bike rider who became MTB World Champion in the Cross Country Eliminator discipline in 2015 and 2016 .

Career

Daniel Federspiel was Austrian runner-up in junior cyclocross in 2005 in Vienna . On the mountain bike, he won the national cross country championship and the marathon championship in the junior class. The next year he was second in the U23 class of the cyclocross championship and in 2007 he won the race in Thörl and in 2009 in Vienna Laaer Berg . In 2008, Federspiel drove for the TYROL Team Radland Tirol , where he became vice European champion in the U23 mountain bike marathon. Federspiel was also able to successfully defend the vice-state championship. Since 2006, the criterion specialist has won every XC battle - with the exception of Across the Village in 2009 due to a broken collarbone. At the 2009 European Marathon Championships in Estonia, he was European champion in the U23 class.

In 2012 Daniel Federspiel became European Champion Cross Country Eliminator in June and Austrian XCE Champion in Kaprun.

The Imster celebrated his greatest success so far at the 2015 World Cup in Andorra. There he became world champion in the cross country eliminator discipline in September .

Daniel Federspiel was voted 2016 Cycling Sport of the Year by Austria.
