Daniel Gavan (born May 8, 1977 in Bucharest ) is an Austrian national volleyball player .

Born in Romania, he started playing volleyball at the age of nine. At 18 he received his first professional contract with Steaua Bucharest and played the first games for the Romanian national team. In 1999 Gavan moved to Austria to the Hypo Tirol volleyball team Innsbruck , where he started his 14th season in autumn 2012. In 2005 the middle blocker received Austrian citizenship, and since 2006 he has also played for the Austrian national team. Gavan and his wife Anca, a former SVS Post player, also made their home in Tyrol. With Hypo Tirol, Gavan celebrated six championships, two MEVZA titles, four cup wins and a fifth place in the Champions League 2009/10 .

With his routine, his performances on the block and in the attack, Gavan is also an important support in the national team. In 2011 he retired from the national team in the preliminary round at the home European championships in Austria and the Czech Republic.
