Daniel Gomez (born March 16, 1979 in Thionville ) is a former French football player on the position of a striker .
Career
Gomez began his career at FC Thionville , for which he played until 1995 and moved on to the youth team at FC Metz . There he played in the reserve team after his youth; he did not get to work for the professional team. For the 2001/02 season he moved to the Belgian second division to Royal Excelsior Virton and was top scorer in his first season at Virton. The following year he narrowly missed the top scorer's crown with 22 goals.
For the 2003/04 season Gomez moved to Germany to Alemannia Aachen , where he quickly played his way into the regular formation. On November 9, 2003, Gomez tested positive for doping after the game against Arminia Bielefeld . He had taken methylprednisolone without disclosing it. He was banned from the DFB for twelve games.
From September 2005 to July 2006, Gomez played for the second division Energie Cottbus , after which he moved back to France for FC Metz for six months . From February 2007 to June 2010 he played in the Dutch Eerste Divisie for MVV Maastricht . After a season in Cyprus with Doxa Katokopia (2010/11), Daniel Gomez was under contract with Jeunesse Esch in Luxembourg and then with F91 Dudelange in the 2011/12 season . In the 2013/14 season he moved to the Belgian club RFC Messancy and moved on to ROC Meix-devant-Virton at the beginning of the 2015/2016 season . Again just one season later, Gomez moved to RUS Ethe Belmont and ended his active career there after the season.
Awards
