Daniel Habesohn (born July 22, 1986 in Vienna ) is an Austrian table tennis player . He has been playing for the table tennis Bundesliga club Post SV Mühlhausen since the 2016/17 season .

In 2012 and 2018 he was European champion in doubles. In 2015 he won with the team EM gold in Yekaterinburg, Russia, with the favorite Germany defeated in the final. Daniel Habesohn, like his teammates, contributed a victory to winning the gold medal. In the 2015 European Championship doubles, he also won a silver medal. In 2013 , at the home European championships in Schwechat, he also won silver in doubles. In 2008 he was third with the team at the EM.

In 2015 he won the silver medal with the team at the Team World Cup. In 2014 Daniel Habesohn won the Pro Tour tournament in Szombathely, Hungary in the individual. At the Pro Tour Grand Finals 2011 in London, he reached the semi-finals in doubles. He also represented Austria at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and in London in 2012 .

Daniel Habesohn is multiple Austrian national champion in singles and doubles. From 2011 to 2015, he trained at the Werner Schlager Academy .

Career

Daniel Habesohn played for the clubs Union Sparkasse Korneuburg, TTV Wieder Neudorf, Askö Linz Altstadt and then joined SVS Niederösterreich , with whom he was in the final of the Champions League in 2002 and 2007 and won it in 2008. In addition, since the 2005/06 season he has been involved in SVS Niederösterreich winning the European Super League . In 2011 he won the Austrian ranking tournament TOP-12. In 2016 he moved to the German Bundesliga for Post SV Mühlhausen in 1951 .

Since 2005 Daniel Habesohn has taken part in all table tennis world championships. Here he reached fifth place in the team competition in 2012 .

Private

Daniel Habesohn is the son of the table tennis player Sonita Habesohn. His brothers Mathias (formerly also national team players; 2009 winner of the Pro Tour tournament in Minsk, Belarus in doubles; 2009 participant in the Pro Tour final in Macau, China; Austrian national champion in doubles; as a player, among others, at the German club TTC Fortuna Passau in the 2. Bundesliga successful; coach in the Werner Schlager Academy for several years since 2011 ) and Dominik are also among the top Austrian players. Daniel Habesohn is a professional athlete by profession.
