Daniel Meier (born January 13, 1972 in Hundwil ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who played in the National League A during his active career for EV Zug , Friborg-Gottéron , Rapperswil-Jona Lakers , Genève-Servette HC and SC Bern won the Swiss championship twice.

Career

Acting in the position of striker, Hundwiler Daniel Meier played in his youth for EV Zug , for which he made his debut in the National League A during the 1990/91 season . He quickly established himself as a regular there before the left-handed shooter moved to Friborg-Gottéron in 1995. In the era of Vyacheslav Bykov and Andrei Khomutov , he completed his statistically most successful season in the 1996/97 game year with 20 goals and 16 assists in 45 qualifying games. After two years at Gottéron, Meier returned to Zug, winning his first Swiss championship with EV Zug in the 1997/98 season .

The attacker firing on the left stayed with EV Zug for three more years before accepting an offer from Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in 2001 . For this he was on the ice for a year in the top division. This was followed by an engagement at Genève-Servette HC from 2002 to 2005 . From the 2005/06 season Meier was under contract in the capital with SC Bern , with whom he won the Swiss championship in the 2009/10 season . He ended his career at SC Langenthal in the National League B in spring 2010 .

International

For Switzerland Meier took World Championships Junior at the 1991 and 1992 part. For the senior selection, he was on the ice in twelve games.
