Daniel Manus Pinkwater (born November 15, 1941 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is an American radio host and author of fantastic children's and youth literature such as Lizard Music about a boy who witnessed an invasion of intelligent lizards.

Life

Pinkwater, who came from a Jewish - Polish family on his father's side , studied art at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson after attending Lake View High School in Chicago , graduating in 1963 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). Pinkwater, who lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, later served as a presenter on National Public Radio , a public, loosely organized collaboration of radio stations in the United States.

The mid- 1970 's began Pink Water with the writing of children's and youth novels , some of which had fantastic themes and partly in German translation appeared. His most famous publications include:
