Daniel Reinhold Finsterbusch
Daniel Reinhold Finsterbusch (born December 27, 1825 in Mittweida , † September 14, 1902 in Glauchau ) was a German teacher and composer.
Life
Finsterbusch attended from 1840 to 1845 the teacher training college in Freiberg in the Erzgebirge with August Ferdinand Anacker , who u. a. composed the popular miner's greeting. After various positions as a teacher and cantor in Chemnitz , Elterlein , Leisnig and Colditz , Finsterbusch became cantor and organist at St. Georgenkirche in Glauchau in 1857. There he also took over the church choir founded by his predecessor. Since he was a versatile and interested person, he let this choir interpret difficult choral music. At the same time he himself began to compose church music, various chants for mixed choir, male choirs, but also instrumental music, some of which are still performed today. He became known u. a. also by publishing 100 folk melodies and 80 chorals for school use and clergy and secular chants for secondary schools .
