Daniel Santacruz (born November 23, 1976 in New Jersey ) is a Dominican singer and composer .

The son of a Cuban father and a Dominican mother, was born in New Jersey but grew up in the Dominican Republic. He has been interested in music since his early youth and, as a self-taught composer, was influenced by musicians such as Wilfrido Vargas , Juan Luis Guerra and Luis Miguel . In 1997 he joined the group Rikarena .

His first solo album Por un beso was released in 2003 and earned him a nomination for the Premio Lo nuestro as artistic discovery of the year. For the song Perdidos , which he composed for the duo Monchy y Alexandra , he received ASCAP prizes in 2005 and 2006 . The song also won a Billboard Award for Best Tropical Song in 2005 and was recorded by José Feliciano and Milly Quezada in 2008 for the Grammy- winning album Señor Bachata .
