Daniel Strauch (born January 8, 1981 in Osnabrück ) is a former German basketball player .

The shrub who grew up in Bad Laer began playing basketball in his home community at SV Bad Laer . After stints in Hagen and Quakenbrück, the 2.06 m Power Forward has been playing for the German Bundesliga club EWE Baskets Oldenburg since 2003 . His greatest successes are winning the German championship in the 2008/09 season with the Oldenburg team and being appointed to the A2 and U20 national teams.

At the beginning of June 2010, EWE Baskets Oldenburg announced that Strauch was ending his active career. Due to various injuries in the previous years, he decided to take this step.

After his professional career, Strauch embarked on a teaching career and published the book Mittags in Oldenburg .

Awards

On September 26, 2010 Daniel Strauch was inducted into the Hall of Fame of EWE Baskets Oldenburg . His jersey number 6 at the time is no longer given in his honor.
