Daniel Wu
Daniel Wu ( Chinese 吳彥祖 / 吴彦祖 , Pinyin Wú Yànzǔ , Jyutping Ng 4 Jin 6 zuo 2 , Cantonese Ng Yin-Cho ; born September 30, 1974 in San Francisco , USA ) is a Sino-American actor who mainly through his films from Hong Kong has become known. Since 2015 he has played the leading role in the US martial arts series Into the Badlands .
Life
Wu grew up in Orinda , California . He attended the Head-Royce School in Oakland . He has been interested in martial arts , especially wushu, since he was young . In 1997 he went to Hong Kong and started his modeling and acting career. In 2005 Wu founded his first band Alive , which was also featured in one of his films. That same year he won the Golden Horse Award for the role in New Police Story and in 2007 he was named New Best Director for The Heavenly Kings . On April 6, 2010 he married Lisa S. (actually: Lisa Selesner), a well-known American model with French-Chinese roots, in South Africa . They have had a daughter since 2013.
