Daniela Șofronie

Nicoleta Daniela "Dana" Șofronie (born February 12, 1988 in Constanța , Constanța district ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

Daniela Șofronie started gymnastics in 1992. She started for CSȘ. No. 1 Farul Constanța and was trained there by Mirela Szemerjai and Cătălin Meran . From 2002 she was a member of the Romanian national team. Șofronie achieved her international breakthrough at the 2004 European Championships with gold in the team competition and the silver medal in the individual all-around competition. She was also ranked 5th in the jump and ranked 6th on the uneven bars . At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens she won gold again with the team and the silver medal on the floor . In the individual all-around she was fifth and sixth on the uneven bars. After a disappointing eighth place on the uneven bars at the European Gymnastics Championships in 2005 , she ended her active career in July 2005 and has since concentrated on her studies. Since May 2008 she has also been working as a supervisor in a fitness studio in Constanța .

Daniela Șofronie is 1.46 m tall and her competition weight was 37 kg.
