Daniela Dessì
Daniela Dessì (born May 14, 1957 in Genoa ; † August 20, 2016 in Brescia ) was an Italian opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
Dessì studied at the Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito in Parma and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena . She sang operas from Rossini to Mozart to Verdi and Puccini. As a soprano, she became internationally known in operas by Verdi and Puccini. She worked with Claudio Abbado , Lorin Maazel , Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti and sang mainly at La Scala in Milan , at the Vienna State Opera , at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin. She has received many awards.
Dessì lived with the Italian tenor Fabio Armiliato on Lake Garda and died of cancer at the age of 59.
