Daniele Jenni

Daniele Jenni (born September 7, 1949 in Bern ; † December 21, 2007 ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician ( SP , GPB-DA ).

Life

Daniele Jenni was born the son of Adolfo Jenni (1911–1997), professor of Italian literature at the University of Bern . He grew up with two brothers and a sister in Bern and Muri and graduated from the Kirchenfeld grammar school , which he graduated with a type B Matura . From 1968 to 1974 he studied law at the University of Bern. Jenni worked at the cantonal administration and acquired in 1978 the advocate patent . He then worked in the legal service of the Federal Alcohol Administration . From autumn 1981 to mid-1983 he was central secretary of the Syndicate of Swiss Media Workers (SSM). Since then he has been an independent lawyer.

From 1971 to 1976 Jenni was a member of the SP. In 1976 he and Luzius Theiler founded the Democratic Alternative (DA, from 1990 Green Party in Bern ), the first green party in German-speaking Switzerland . Jenni was a member of the Bern City Council (city parliament) in 1981/82 . From 1982 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1994 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . From 2000 he was again a city councilor.

Jenni was single and lived in Bümpliz . His estate is in the State Archives of the Canton of Bern .
