Dante Parini

Dante Parini (born November 21, 1890 in Milan , † April 11, 1969 ibid) was an Italian sculptor .

biography

Parini studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera under the direction of masters like Enrico Butti , together with Giannino Castiglioni , with whom he shared ideas and projects

He was primarily a sculptor of memorials to the fallen of the world wars and graves of famous people, modeled on his teacher Butti.

Among other things, he created the war memorials of Tarquinia and the monument to the soldiers who died in the war of Induno Olona . The sculpture dates back to World War II with the work of Parini, sponsored by a committee of the Associazione nazionale combattenti e reduci (National Association of Fighters and Veterans) and the Associazione Nazionale Alpini (National Alpini Association), which used the old design of a previous monument wanted to restore, with a new bronze statue, but this time depicts a simple soldier.

Some of his works can be found on the Cimitero Monumentale in Milan , including the tombs of Pini Defendini, Biotti Natoli, Ravetti and Carnivals in the Temple of Parabiago, the tomb of Moruzzo in the Sarzana cemetery and a few others. Fine sculptures and paintings are part of the most important private collections.

During his long life he participated in several international exhibitions.

In 1924 he received the diploma of honorary membership of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera .

In addition to his hometown of Milan, he had a very close relationship with Brusimpiano , where he was the first mayor at the end of World War II.
