Dantes Diwiak is a tenor singer .

Life

He was born in Yugoslavia , grew up in Germany and works mainly in Germany. After graduating from high school, Dantes Diwiak studied singing with Klaus Kirchner and studied opera at the Hanover Music Academy with Theo Altmeyer . He took part in master classes from Hermann Reutter , Birgit Nilsson , Helmuth Rilling and Scot Weir . He was engaged at the Hanover Opera House and at the Bremen and Oldenburg Opera Houses.

He also sang the part of the evangelist in Bach's Passions abroad. B. in Moscow, France, Syria and Israel. In 1982 Diwiak sang the Oratorio de Noël by Camille Saint-Saëns with the MarkusChor Hannover and the Staatsorchester Hannover . In 1983 he took part in Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle as part of the Kirchentag and in Weber's Mass in E flat major . In 1989 he sang in Haydn's The Creation with the Harburger Kantorei in the St. Johanniskirche in Harburg . He took part in choir concerts in the Neustädter Kirche , Hanover, in 1996 Stravinsky's Canticum sacrum , 1988 Stravinsky's Cantata and Mozart's Great Mass in C minor , 1990 Bach's B minor Mass , in 1991 he was the evangelist of the St. Matthew Passion in the last concert by Cantor Erhard Egidi , with Anselm Richter as Vox Christi, Monika Frimmer , Ralf Popken and Joachim Gebhardt. In 1994 a concert of the B minor Mass was recorded live in the Peterskirche in Heidelberg. Gerald Kegelmann directed the Heidelberg Madrigal Choir, the Accademia Filarmonica Cologne and the trumpet consort Friedemann Immer , with Veronika Winter , Kai Wessel and Raimund Nolte .

In 2007 he sang Haydn's Paukenmesse , Mozart's Coronation Mass and Mendelssohn's Elias with the MarkusChor Hannover . With the Nordschleswigschen Musikvereinigung he performed Haydn's Missa in angustiis and Bach's cantata Schallet, you songs, you sound, you strings! on. In 2010 he was a soloist in a concert at the University of Hamburg in the oratorio Die Glocke by Max Bruch . He sang the tenor solo in Verdi's Messa da Requiem in St. Martin, Idstein .

In 2002 he founded a quartet with Monika Frimmer , Christa Bonhoff and Peter Kooij called Tanto Canto , which performs rare songs a cappella as well as with piano or ensemble. In 2005 the quartet recorded excerpts from the ear-pleasing and mind-delighting Tafel-Confect (also called Augsburger Tafel-Confect ) by the composers Valentin Rathgeber and Johann Caspar Seyfert , conducted by Jürgen Sonnentheil .

Dantes Diwiak is married to the contralto Christa Bonhoff, he is a member of the NDR choir .
