Dao ( Chinese 道 县 , Pinyin Dào Xiàn ) is a district that belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Yongzhou in the south of the Chinese province of Hunan . It has an area of 2,441 km² and has 670,000 inhabitants. Its main town is Daojiang道 江镇.
The Stone Age Yuchanyan site (Yuchanyan yizhi 玉蟾 岩 遗址) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-91) since 2001 .
The Daoxian massacre took place from August 13th to October 17th, 1967.
