Daria Gaiazova (born December 24, 1983 in Moscow ) is a former Canadian cross-country skier .

Career

Gaiazova took part in the Continental Cup from 2000 to 2004. From 2004 to 2014 she competed in the Nor Am Cup, which she won in 2010 , and in the cross-country skiing world cup . She ran her first World Cup race in October 2005 in Düsseldorf , which she finished with 51st place in the sprint. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo were 40th place in the 30 km mass start race and 16th place in the relay. In January 2009 she got her first World Cup points in Whistler with 29th place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , 28th place in the sprint was her best result. Her best results at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver were 22nd place in the sprint and 15th place in the relay. In December 2010 she reached her first podium in the team sprint with 3rd place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , she finished 20th in the sprint and 6th place in the team sprint. The 40th place over 10 km freestyle and the 13th place in the team sprint were her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme . With 4th place in the sprint in January 2013 in Liberec, she achieved her best individual World Cup result to date. She finished the 2012/13 season in 42nd place in the overall World Cup ranking and 17th in the sprint ranking. Her best placings at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 25th in the sprint and 11th in the team sprint.
