Darmstadt master buildings

With reference to the first exhibition of the Darmstadt artists' colony in 1901, in 1951, as part of the 2nd Darmstadt Talks from 4th to 6th August, the exhibition Mensch und Raum was shown at Mathildenhöhe . The drafts for the eleven originally planned Darmstadt master buildings were presented. The buildings by internationally renowned architects were typical of the reconstruction phase after the Second World War, eleven planning contracts were awarded.
