The End of Maradu is a 1931 American adventure film directed by George Melford . The screenplay is based on a story by Dale Van Every .

Linda Rudolph is looking for her husband Allan. After a long and dangerous journey, she reaches the kingdom of Maradu in the interior of the island of Borneo . Here she finds her husband, who works as a court doctor under the name of Dr. Clark is working. Allan is bitter and accuses his wife of infidelity.
Prince Hashin was brought up well and studied at the Sorbonne in Paris. Nevertheless, he takes pleasure in throwing his enemies to the crocodiles to eat. Hashin believes that the nearby volcano, which has become troubled lately, will not erupt as long as he lives. However, he is the last of his family and should he die, Maradu will be destroyed by the lava.
Hashin desires Linda, who doesn't feel comfortable in the jungle. Linda's fears soften Allan. One night he makes off with Linda. Hashin pursues the couple and takes them prisoner. Allan is said to be killed by the crocodiles in the morning. Hashin turns to Linda and threatens her. But Linda shoots Hashin down. The volcano erupts, Allan and Linda escape the lava and leave Hashin to his fate.
Reviews
Mordaunt Hall of the New York Times attested the film a great deal, if not excess, of tension, although plausibility fell by the wayside.
