Rose Hobart

Rose Hobart (born May 1, 1906 in New York City , † August 29, 2000 in Woodland Hills , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

Life

Hobart appeared in the theater at the age of 15. In 1930 she made her first film Liliom , where she played the leading female role. She achieved the greatest success of her career in 1931 as Muriel Carew on the side of Frederic March and Miriam Hopkins in the classic film Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde . In 1939 she was seen in the horror film The Executioner of London . She plays the wife of Humphrey Bogart in the 1945 thriller conflict .

In the 1950s Hobart was blacklisted by the Committee on Un-American Activities and therefore could not work as an actress for years. From 1968 to 1971 she appeared again in some television productions, such as Rauchende Colts or Cannon .

Rose Hobart was married three times and was the mother of one son.
