action

Christina inherits a house in Corsica from her grandmother. Although her parents urge her to sell it as soon as possible, the young Belgian sets off on her own to see it at least once. She likes the area. The villagers are open-minded and helpful. The house is in dire need of renovation, but the view of the valley is terrific. An appraiser estimates the value of the house at 40,000 euros. Christina's parents are also enthusiastic on their first visit. The initial skepticism has given way. Christina's father and her brother Tony even lend a hand with the roof renovation. Father Alberto takes over and suffers a collapse on site. This brings the family closer together again. Christina's mother promises financial support. The necessary repair work will cost around 95,000 euros.

criticism

"The story suggested here is very appealing, but its potential is not fully developed, for that Duculot's staging of its romantic and melodramatic aspects is too blatantly kitschy."

- Filmstarts.de

"The fact that the film language engages in the protagonist's experience of nature gives the story of the dropout a great attraction without transforming the setting into an idyll."

Awards

The film won the audience award and the Golden Unicorn at the Amiens Film Festival in 2011.
