François Vincentelli (born July 3, 1971 in Brussels ) is a Belgian theater and film actor with Corsican roots.

Life

François Vincentelli gained his first experience as an actor in school theater. He then trained as an actor at the Brussels Institute National Supérieur des Arts du spectacle (INSAS). Vincentelli made his screen debut in Gérard Corbiau's Belgian drama The Year of Awakening in 1991. But it wasn't until 1998 that he could be seen again in a movie alongside Isabelle Huppert in the literary adaptation School of Desire . Now active in France, he starred in 2001 alongside Sabine Azéma and André Dussollier in the comedy Tanguy - Der Nesthocker .

He was featured in the six-part television series Frank Riva from 2003 to 2004 alongside Alain Delon and Sophie von Kessel . He then took part in other series, including as part of the new cast in the second season of Clara Sheller - In Love with Paris (2008). From 2008 to 2015 he also played the main male role of Roy Lapoutre in 30 episodes of the comedy series Hard , in which a young woman inherits a production company for porn films from her deceased husband and has to put it back into shape.

Vincentelli played Sophie Marceau's work colleague and ex-husband in the love comedies On the Other Side of the Bed (2008) and And besides the great happiness (2012) . In Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's US thriller The Tourist (2010) with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie , he was seen as a French secret agent. In the action film Wild Card (2015) with Jason Statham , he came back in a supporting role in a US production. In 2016 an appearance in the action comedy The Super Cops - Always Crazy! Directed by Dany Boon , who also starred. In the tragic comedy The Most Beautiful Time of Our Life (2019) with Daniel Auteuil and Fanny Ardant , Vincentelli played the alleged husband of Doria Tillier in a supporting role .

Over the years Vincentelli was also active as a stage actor. In autumn 2013 he was on stage at the Théâtre Edouard VII in Paris with Mathilde Seigner and François Berléand . For his performance in the play Le Canard à l'orange , a French adaptation of the comedy The Secretary Bird (1967) by William Douglas Home , Vincentelli received the renowned French theater award Molière in the category Best Supporting Actor in 2019 . In 2018 he also slipped into the role of the porn star Roy Lapoutre from the series Hard , when it was performed in an adapted stage version at the Théâtre de la Renaissance.

François Vincentelli was married and has twins (* approx. 2000). After a long-term relationship with actress Mylène Jampanoï , he has been in a relationship with actress and dancer Alice Dufour (* 1987) since 2015 , whom he met on the set of the television series Hard and with whom he appeared on stage in Le Canard à l'orange . He lives on Montmartre in Paris, where he runs an art gallery with his friend, the actor Olivier Sitruk .
