action

Jazz pianist Sacha is enjoying his life in Paris to the full. He likes to party, has one wife after another, and his mother Fanfan does his laundry. He makes a living composing advertising jingles . The CEO Alain Posche, his newest customer, is not satisfied with Sacha's composition. When Sacha leaves his company headquarters and a heavy rain shower sets in, he meets the attractive Charlotte, who, clumsy as she is, stumbles and falls to the ground next to his car. After a passing car had sprayed her completely wet, Sacha offered to take her a piece in his convertible, which was open in the rain and therefore completely wet inside. They then sit down in a café and get to know each other better. As it turns out, Charlotte is the wife of Alain Posche, from whom she has been separated for two years. She works for a foundation that uses advertising income from the Posche Group to organize exhibitions of contemporary art. Charlotte, who lets Sacha drive her home, succumbs to his charm and ends up in his bed.

Sacha's friends Laurent, Lionel and Chris are surprised that Sacha is interested in a grown woman, otherwise he only has eyes for girls in their early 20s. When he stopped by Charlotte one evening to spend the night with her, it turned out that that Charlotte is not only over 30, but also the mother of three children. Daughter Suzy comes from Charlotte's first husband César, the sons Louis and Léonard were born from Charlotte's marriage to Alain. Sacha, who doesn't really like children, continues to feel drawn to Charlotte. When they land back at her place, Charlotte wreaks havoc in the bathroom out of clumsiness. The sink has broken out of the wall and the water is flowing out of the tap. Sacha offers his help and tries to repair the damage. The next morning he sneaks out of the apartment so that Charlotte's children don't see him. In front of the front door, however, he meets Suzy's father César, who advises him aggressively to stay away from his family.

However, Sacha is determined to continue dating Charlotte. When he tries to repair her bathroom with the appropriate tools, she introduces him to her children. While bowling together, Sacha's friends and his elderly Jewish grandmother Charlotte finally get to know each other. When Alain calls Charlotte on her cell phone and reminds her of a business lunch that requires her presence, Sacha agrees to take care of her children and to bring them home later. Contrary to expectations, Sacha gets along very well with Suzy, Louis and Léonard. He begins to take her into his heart, and the children are also taken with his uncomplicated manner. Charlotte comes home late in the evening. While she is dancing with Sacha in the living room, Alain suddenly arrives and sees them together. Alain then ensures that Sacha, who wants to put on a music show with his friend Laurent, cannot find a producer to finance the project. Frustrated and instigated by Laurent, Sacha succumbs to his old habits and spends the night with other women. When Charlotte comes to see him, she sees the naked women and slaps Sacha in the face.

When Suzy injured her leg, Charlotte and Sacha meet again in the hospital. Sacha, who received an offer for a show on New York's Broadway with Laurent , realizes how much he loves Charlotte and does not want to go to New York. Charlotte, who wants to divorce Alain and open her own art gallery, receives a message from Sacha. He wants to meet her. But first she meets Laurent, who has visited her to talk to her about Sacha's future. Charlotte then lets Sacha know that she is no longer interested in a relationship with him. Disappointed, Sacha finally flies to New York. There his show was a great success and the women were raging for him. Sacha cannot forget Charlotte and her children, however. Meanwhile, while jogging with César, Charlotte learns that it was Alain who made sure that César once disappeared from her life. As it turns out, it is also Alain who is secretly funding Sacha's show on Broadway. When Sacha finds out and Laurent confesses to having convinced Charlotte to end the relationship, Sacha returns to Paris. Charlotte, who is moving into a new house with her children that day, happily embraces Sacha when they meet again, and the children are also happy to have him back with them.

Reviews

“Cartoonesque directorial ideas and a halfway realistic portrayal of the patchwork universe loosen up the corset of romantic comedy in a refreshing way, but all too often the film is exhausted in mere slapstick,” judged the lexicon of international films . The main actor Gad Elmaleh was able to "circumnavigate some shallows with humor", although the film "looks at the plot more from the outside" than "getting involved in the couple's conflicts".

For Cinema , the film was a “laboriously narrated and implausible” comedy, “in which everything somehow happens on the side and nothing fits together”. Prisma found that "one or the other slapstick act was too much", "the story that has often been told [...] through charming interludes, good guys, annoying-fun children, high-quality music, a solid pinch of esprit and some puns" still convince. And by the way, the great luck is “not particularly profound and also not perfect”, but offers “pleasantly refreshing entertainment”.
