The Joshua-Profil is a German TV film by director Jochen Alexander Freydank from 2018 . The film is based on Sebastian Fitzek's bestseller The Joshua Profile from 2015.

action

The writer Max Rhode receives a call from a stranger who tells him that his foster daughter Jola is in danger and that he should meet with him. Max investigates, but when he arrives at the agreed meeting point, the stranger's car explodes and the stranger with him. Meanwhile, his daughter Jola, who he left alone at home, is given knockout drops by a burglar and the police accuse him of rape after finding Jola's underwear and pictures in his desk, but his lawyer Toffi can him get out of custody. When the youth welfare office and the police are at the door the next day, Max flees with his daughter, while his wife Kim stops the police. While on the run, Max and Jola have an accident and Jola is kidnapped. Max ends up in the hospital and is guarded by the police. However, he manages to escape and takes Frida Blum, a package delivery woman, hostage who drives him to his brother Cosmo, who gives him a gun. When Max drives on with Frida and he falls asleep, Frida takes the gun and aims at him, but Max makes it clear to her that his daughter is in danger and she helps him.

You learn from a man that Joshua is a program that can predict crime before it even takes place. Max, Cosmo and Frida then kidnap an employee of the organization so that Frida can sneak into the building with her ID and deposit a baby monitor . They learn that Joshua is to be sold for a lot of money and that Max is being monitored as a test person because he is supposed to murder his daughter. To ensure that, everything is adjusted so that Max really should murder his daughter. To build up pressure, Max kidnaps the boss's daughter and demands his daughter in return. He gives the boss's daughter to Frida for the time being, but she hands her over to the police. When Max drives back to his brother haphazardly, he finds his novel Die Blutschule , in which he writes de facto about his bad childhood, with comments from Cosmo that complement Max's memories. He then goes to the place where his father wanted to teach him and his brother to kill, because he suspects Jola to be there. That turns out to be true and he finds her. His brother who appeared suddenly overwhelmed the guard, who also suddenly appeared. Finally the police and the ambulance arrive.
