content

The story is about Adrián, a conductor of the Philharmonic in Bogotá , and his girlfriend Belén, who moved to a large house from Spain to Bogotá. When Belén suspects that Adrián is cheating on a violinist, she puts him to the test and pretends to leave him. Leaving only a single video message behind, she holed up before Adrián's return home in a secret panic room , which is located within the shared house, in order to follow the events and Adrián's reaction to the farewell video from there. In the rush, Belén forgets the key outside and can no longer escape from the soundproof room.

The room provides a view of the bedroom and the adjoining bathroom through two semi-transparent mirrors. After her fake "disappearance", Belén has to watch Adrián start a relationship with the waitress Fabiana out of grief. Adrián and Fabiana, on the other hand, can neither see nor hear Belén through the mirror and the soundproof wall and neither do they know about the existence of the secret room.

Strange incidents took place in the house over the next few days that worried Fabiana when she spends the nights there with Adrián. She hears noises from the sink drain and notices while bathing that the water is making waves. She therefore assumes there is a ghost in the house. She also finds a key in the bedroom, but at first she doesn't know what it is for.

She learns the real reason for the occurrence when she comes up with the idea of communicating with the alleged "ghost" by waiting for the water to move again. Belén uses the long-awaited chance to draw attention to her imprisonment in the secret room by striking a water pipe inside the room with a rod to cause the water to move in waves.

At first she succeeds in doing this. But when she got Fabiana to find the lock on the door, Fabiana changed her mind. She doesn't want to free her for the time being because she doesn't want to lose Adrián.

When it turns out that Adrián has a relationship with the violinist Verónica, Fabiana finally overcomes herself and decides to free Belén from the secret room. However, Belén can overwhelm Fabiana and in turn locks Fabiana in the room. She leaves the key with Adrián and a photo of him and Belén, which she attaches to the mirror. In the end it is not clear whether Fabiana will ever manage to leave the secret room.

criticism

“Drama about voyeurism and claustrophobia, constructed as an exciting game between the inside and outside world, in which the plot comes together from cleverly nested narrative threads. What could be a metaphor about coming to terms with the past, fed by grief, fear of death, panic and abysmal exhaustion, is increasingly lost in horror elements with a lot of theatrical thunder. "
