Since the death of Klaus Huber, Peter Wilmanns and Buddy Sacher have appeared as Das wüsten Gobi .

From 2016 onwards, Buddy Sacher and Peter Wilmanns will be called Sacher-Wilmanns . The new program premieres on March 11, 2016.

Background and style

Founded in 1979, Ars Vitalis consisted of the original line-up until the death of Klaus de Huber. Their form of musical cabaret was difficult to classify in a style. Text, music, sounds and noises combined as equal forms of expression. The three stoically serious characters, who mimed and musically produced fine, subtle to absurd scenes at a high level, were characteristic for the performances. Her comedy consisted of self-irony, the fun of the different, the absurd and was sometimes of a sad nature.

For 30 years they have referred to themselves as "The grandchildren of Pierre de Naufrage" , who, as the "Belgian lock keeper" , is said to have invented all sorts of hearing machines, and Julia Amalie Heyer wrote about his name: "Naufrage" literally means shipwreck and that in a figurative sense Dwindling crazy hopes, the end of every utopia. "

"And even if the three men have meanwhile also learned to speak in full sentences ... sometimes a word falls into the no man's land between stage and audience and an astonishing search begins, because several tones have jumped after the word and are now also missing ..." (Ars Vitalis)

Ars Vitalis worked with Meret Becker and the Japanese actor Issey Ogata , among others . They played regularly on the well-known cabaret stages in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol. With them, the bar of everyone was opened in 1992 in Berlin. Her international tours (invitations from the Goethe Institute abroad) led to Canada , Mexico , USA , Japan , France , and most recently to Hungary , Georgia and Australia .

The last appearances in the original cast as a trio took place in November 2011 in the cellar stage in St. Gallen and in the Comedia Cologne .

The Gobi desert

Klaus Huber had a decisive influence on the style of Ars Vitalis . After his death, the artistic concept was no longer viable and Ars Vitalis dissolved. Buddy Sacher and Peter Wilmanns have been working under the name Das wüsten Gobi since 2012 . In Das wüsten Gobi, irony and elements of absurd theater are combined with melancholy moments. Whimsical texts mix with sounds and musical elements from rock , pop and jazz .

The premiere of the first program of Das wüsten Gobi took place on February 18, 2012 at KULT in Niederstetten . It bears the title Free View on the Ambiente and consists largely of texts from the book by Buddy Sacher, which was published in 2008 by the Theater Ticino publishing house under the full title Free View on the Ambience. The little cosmic bird guide (Volume II). has appeared. Initially, the piece was only intended as a reading in order to fulfill contractual obligations, but then Sacher and Wilmanns developed a new independent program from it in just a few weeks.

reception

The Franconian News praised the premiere of the new program: "The solution born out of necessity is top-class, very original and convincing."
