The DAUN & Cie. Aktiengesellschaft based in Rastede is one of the largest textile companies in Germany. The group sees itself as a holding company that provides a wide variety of services for its subsidiaries as a strategic financial holding company.
history
It was founded in 1979. Since then, the group has been buying textile companies. From 1997 several companies in Germany were taken over. The group also has investments, branches and production sites in Portugal, the Czech Republic, China, the USA, India, Uzbekistan and many other countries.
In 2003 Daun & Cie bought Deutsche Bank's 13 percent stake in Phoenix AG (rubber technology). In the months that followed, Daun & Cie acquired further large blocks of shares, including the shares in WestLB . Phoenix AG was merged with ContiTech AG , a subsidiary of Continental AG , in November 2004 .
