David Berger (born July 11, 1983 ) is a former South African ice hockey goalkeeper who played most of his career with the Johannesburg Scorpions in the Gauteng Province Ice Hockey League .

Career

David Berger first played for Can Am Johannesburg . Since 2003 he has been in the Gauteng Province Ice Hockey League , one of the regional ice hockey leagues in South Africa, whose champions play the South African national champions at the end of the season, with the Johannesburg Scorpions in goal. There he ended his career after the 2011 season.

International

In the junior division, Berger was in goal for South Africa at the U20-D World Cup in 2000 . He had already played for the men's selection at the 1999 D World Championship . After switching to the current division system, he took part in the World Championships in Division II in 2003 , 2004 , 2006 and 2009 . He then played in Division III in 2010 and 2011 . In 2011, he was elected the best goalkeeper of the tournament with the best catch quota and the lowest goals against goals and his performance made a significant contribution to the resurgence of the Springboks in Division II.
