The David Brown Speedback is a vehicle from the British car manufacturer David Brown , which was presented at the Top Marques in Monaco in April 2014 . The sports car is built in Silverstone, UK .
The basis of the sports car is the Jaguar XKR , which was built until 2014, and its V8 engine . The AJ-V8 engine has a 92.3 mm bore , 93 mm stroke , 5000 cm³ displacement and develops 375 kW (510 PS). The automatic transmission has six gears. The top speed is 250 km / h. The car accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds.
The vehicle is similar to the models DB5 and DB6 of Aston Martin . The large tailgate is unusual for such a vehicle. The combi coupé is optionally available with two or 2 + 2 seats. In the luggage compartment there is an additional folding bench that can be folded out for a picnic . The car is 4.77 m long, including exterior mirrors 2.09 m wide and 1.32 m high.
From Speedback GT are no longer produced 100 vehicles at a cost of about 495,000 pounds sterling offered per piece. A price of almost 770,000 euros has been handed down for Germany .
The revised version of the Speedback GT was presented at the 87th Geneva Motor Show in March 2017 .
At the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018, David Brown presented the Speedback Silverstone Edition, a performance-enhanced version of the sports car. This is limited to just ten units.
