David City is a town of 2,597 people in Butler County , Nebraska . It is the county seat of Butler County.

David City is about 95 km west of Omaha , the largest city in the state of Nebraska and about 20 km south of the Platte River .
history
The place where David City is today was chosen as the future seat of the administrative region following an election in Butler County in March 1873. The land on which the city's courthouse is now owned at the time belonged to Mrs. Phoebe Davids Miles, who donated the land to the city free of charge. The city was therefore named "David City" in honor of your father, William Davids of Marion.

According to the United States Census 2000 , David City has 2597 residents, 1082 households and 641 families. There are children in 29.6% of households. The city's average per capita income is $ 16,550. Approximately 3.1% of families and 8.1% of the population live below the poverty line , including 8% of children and adolescents and 10.1% of those over 65.
Infrastructure
There are three schools in the city: St. Thomas Aquinas middle and high school and St. Mary's Catholic Grade Schools , two Catholic schools, and the David City Public School . To the south of the city is the Butler County Health Care Center, a small hospital with 20 beds. There is also a medical center called Butler County Clinic, PC and two nursing homes: St. Joseph's Villa and David Place . A few hundred meters south of the city is a small airfield with an asphalt runway, the Bongers Sky Ranch Airfield, and a small golf course.
