David Clarke competed in the 1953 Le Mans 24-hour race on a Frazer Nash Le Mans Coupe .
David Arnold Clarke (born September 15, 1929 in Mountsorrel , † July 1, 2002 ) was a British racing driver .
Racing career
David Clarke was active in sports car racing in the early 1950s . He finished twelfth overall in the 1951 RAC Tourist Trophy on a Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica and the 1952 Goodwood 9-hour race with Bob Gerard in fourth overall. Bob Gerard was also his team-mate in the 1953 Le Mans 24-hour race , where the duo retired after an engine failure on the Frazer Nash Mk.II LM Coupé.
