David Collet
Theodore David Anthony Collet (born October 19, 1901 in Lambeth , Greater London , † April 26, 1984 in Scottsdale , Arizona ) was a British rower . He won the Olympic bronze medal in singles in 1928 .
At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , Collet defeated the Swiss Édouard Candeveau in his preliminary run . In the interim he lost to Kenneth Myers from the United States. With a victory in the hope run over the Hungarian Béla Szendey , Collet reached the quarter-finals, in which he beat the Canadian Joseph Wright jr. conquered. After his semi-final defeat against the Australian Henry Pearce , Collet secured the bronze medal with a victory over Bert Gunther from the Netherlands.
Collet took part in the Boat Race against Oxford for the University of Cambridge from 1922 to 1924 , and Cambridge won in 1922 and 1924. From 1927 to 1929 he won the Wingfield Sculls three times in a row .
