David's hand

David Dodd Hand , usually David Hand , David D. Hand or Dave Hand (born January 23, 1900 in Plainfield , New Jersey , † October 11, 1986 in San Luis Obispo , California ), was an American animator , film director and film producer . Hand directed the productions Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) and Bambi (1942).

Life

David D. Hand began his career in New York in the 1920s, where he animated the films in the Out of the Inkwell series , an animated series (in German: From the ink glass ). In 1930 he went to Walt Disney Studios , where he quickly became one of the top animators because of his great talent. In 1944 he left Walt Disney , and from 1946 he worked on the animated series Animaland and Musical Paintbox, among others . Production of these series ended in 1950 and Hand went to the Alexander Film Company , where he worked for the next eighteen years.
