David Greilsammer

David Greilsammer (born August 10, 1977 in Jerusalem , Israel ) is an Israeli pianist and conductor .

David Greilsammer was born in Jerusalem. At the age of six he began his musical training at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance. After completing his military service, he entered the Juilliard School in New York City . After studying pianist and conductor with Yoheved Kaplinsky, he worked with the American pianist Richard Goode . David Greilsammer's debut as a soloist was at Lincoln Center in 2004 and received a very positive review by the New York Times . Since then he has performed at major festivals and concert halls around the world. David Greilsammer has been artistic director and chief conductor of the Orchester de Chambre de Genève since autumn 2010 .

With a diverse repertoire from baroque to contemporary music and innovative programs, he performs as a pianist, conductor and chamber musician . Mozart's music , for whose interpretation he is internationally known, is of particular importance to David Greilsammer . In 2008 he played all of Mozart's piano sonatas in Paris (“Mozart Marathon”) within one day. Spread over several recitals, he also played the works at the Verbier Festival . He has presented his Scarlatti - Cage program, in which he combines piano sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti with sonatas for prepared piano by John Cage, in Paris and London, among others. Every year David Greilsammer creates new, original projects that combine music, dance and theater, as well as musical projects for children. In doing so, he makes a valuable contribution to opening up the classical music scene to a new and younger audience.
