David H. DePatie
David H. DePatie , actually David Hudson DePatie (born May 26, 1935 in Shiprock , New Mexico ), is an American film producer.
Life
DePatie succeeded John W. Burton in 1960 as head of the Warner Bros. Cartoon Division. His time at Warner included works such as Philbert and The Bugs Bunny Show . A short time later, Warner decided to close the animation studio. DePatie was responsible for the dissolution of the Cartoon Division, which took 1.5 years to complete and was completed in 1963. In 1963 he founded the DePatie-Freleng Enterprises (DFE) film studio with the animator Friz Freleng , which among other things created the cartoons about the Pink Panther . Other new cartoon series from DFE included Roland, das Blumenkind , Sancho and Pancho, The Blue Elise , The Blue Racer and Hoot Kloot . They were also involved in new cartoons about Speedy Gonzales and Daffy Duck on behalf of Warner .
When Freleng returned to Warner in 1980, who had re-established their animation department in the 1970s, Freleng and DePatie sold DFE to Cadence Industries, the parent company of Marvel Comics. DePatie was the founder and head of the film studio now called Marvel Productions and handed over the management to Margaret Loesch in 1984.
