David Kopřiva

David Kopřiva (born October 18, 1979 in Prague ) is a former Czech rower .

Athletic career

Kopřiva finished in 1999 at the Nations Cup, a predecessor competition of the U23 World Championships , tenth place in the quadruple sculls . The following year he reached fifth place in the double scull .

In 2001 he competed with Vaclav Vochoska in a double scull , the two took 15th place at the World Championships in Lucerne . In 2002 he switched to the double foursome. Together with Jakub Stencl , Jakub Hanák and Jakub Litera he finished ninth at the World Championships in Seville . After two fourth places and a second place in the 2003 World Cup , David Kopřiva, Petr Vitasek , Jakub Hanák and David Jirka won the silver medal behind the German double four at the World Championships in Milan . In the 2004 World Cup, Kopřiva took third place twice with a double scull, in the final of the Olympic Games in Athens the Russians won ahead of the Czechs with David Kopřiva, Tomáš Karas , Jakub Hanák and David Jirka.

The 1.92 m tall David Kopřiva rowed for Dukla Prague .
