David Liffiton (born October 18, 1984 in Windsor , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Frederikshavn White Hawks in Denmark since July 2016 .

Career

David Liffiton began his career as a hockey player with the Plymouth Whalers , for which he was active from 2001 to 2004 in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2003 in the second round as a total of 63 players by the Colorado Avalanche , which then did not take him under contract. Instead, he played for the Hartford Wolf Pack in the American Hockey League from 2004 to 2008 . At the same time he came to three missions in the National Hockey League for their cooperation partner New York Rangers , as well as 31 missions in the course of the 2004/05 season for the Charlotte Checkers in the ECHL .

The 2008/09 season Liffiton spent with EfB Ishockey in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen . In this he scored three goals in 29 games and provided six templates. He then returned to North America and was on the ice for the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL during the 2009/10 season . From the 2010/11 season , the Canadian played parallel for the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL, as well as their AHL farm team Lake Erie Monsters .

In summer 2012 he returned to Europe, where he was signed by Hockey Milano Rossoblu from the Italian A1 series .

He played in Sweden in the following two seasons: At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, initially for first division club Färjestad BK , during the season he signed with the second division team Malmö Redhawks , where he stayed until the end of the 2014/15 season. In that season he rose with the Redhawks in the first division SHL .

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the Austrian first division club HC TWK Innsbruck and after a year moved on to Denmark, where he was introduced as a new addition by the Frederikshavn White Hawks in July 2016 .
