David Servan scribe
David Servan-Schreiber (born April 21, 1961 in Neuilly-sur-Seine near Paris , † July 24, 2011 in Fécamp , Normandy ) was a French doctor , psychiatrist and author .
Life
David Servan-Schreiber was born as the eldest of four sons of Sabine de Fouquières and the journalist and politician Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber . He studied medicine in France and Canada ( MD at the Université Laval, Canada ) and received his doctorate in the USA in the field of neurocognitive sciences with Nobel Prize winner Herbert Simon (Ph.D, Carnegie Mellon University ). He worked in the USA as a professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh and in France as a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine in Lyon . He was a founding member of the US section of Doctors Without Borders and a co-founder of the UPMC Center for Integrative Medicine in Pittsburgh. He became known for popular science books in which he propagated healthy eating, exercise and a balanced lifestyle. He gained attention above all through his bestseller The New Medicine of Emotions and The Anti-Cancer Book - Prevention and Follow-up with Natural Means . He pointed out the risk of cancer due to long-term exposure to cell phone radiation , which has not been excluded . He died of a brain tumor at the age of 50 that he had been diagnosed with 19 years earlier.
