David Shea
David Shea (born December 8, 1965 in Springfield (Massachusetts) ) is an American turntablist (including samples and piano) and composer .
Shea studied composition at the School of Performing Arts in Indianapolis and then moved to New York City , where he joined as a DJ made his name. John Zorn drew him to numerous of his projects. His debut album Shock Corridor was released in 1992. Since then he has published works for ensembles as well as sound collages based on Fluxus , Patchwork Music , John Cage and Iannis Xenakis . As part of the Down Town scene, he regularly works with musicians such as Zorn, Fred Frith , Anthony Coleman , Zeena Parkins , Erik Friedlander , Bill Laswell and Elliott Sharp , but also with electronics such as Ikue Mori , Robin Rimbaud ( scanner ) or Charles Hayward and Bands like Mr. Bungle .
