David Warren is a production designer and art director .

Life

Warren began his career on the film staff in 1994 as an uncredited assistant production designer on the horror film Interview With A Vampire . In the 1990s, further engagements followed without naming such as Event Horizon - At the Edge of the Universe . From the beginning of the 2000s he worked, now in a responsible position, for major film productions, including Bridget Jones - Chocolate for Breakfast and Johnny English - The Spy Who Broken It . In 2007 he worked for Tim Burton on his horror musical Sweeney Todd - The Devilish Barber from Fleet Street . Warren's main field of activity is film; only rarely did he work on television productions such as the series Emerald City - The Dark World of Oz .

For Terry Gilliam's fantasy film The Cabinet of Doctor Parnassus , he was nominated together with Anastasia Masaro and Caroline Smith in 2010 for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design and the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Production Design. Warren won the 2012 Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Award for his work on Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret .
